The award-winning GrowthInvest Adviser Hour drives education and understanding of tax-efficient and alternative investments, with discussions on the opportunities and challenges that advisers face. First launched in early 2018, and now into its eighth series, the Adviser Hour has transformed the online and educational landscape for financial advisers looking for the latest information and insights on tax efficient and alternative investments.

Hosted by Lawrence Gosling, the fifth episode of the Autumn Series features a star line-up of both old and new leading industry figures and commentators featuring guests representing some of the best established and most popular EIS providers in the market, Arie Capital, Committed Capital, o2h Ventures, Newable Ventures and Jenson Funding Partners.

As well as an in-depth exploration of market trends and analysis, including we will casting a keen eye over the expectations and hopes for the 2021/22 tax season, and asking our guests for their predictions and tips for advisers and their clients over the all-important last quarter of the tax year. As always, we will be asking the panel what they think the EIS market and industry can do to grow over the next few years.

We will also be asking the panel a series of questions from Advisers, in our new Adviser Clinic section.

The show will be broadcast at 10am on Thursday 18th November 2021. It will be promoted as a great way for advisers to find out the latest on key industry trends, opportunities, and challenges, and what it looks like to be an adviser at the forefront of tax efficient investments in 2021/22.

Jeffrey joined Jenson in 2013 and is a Partner and Chief Investment Officer and sits on the Executive Committee. Jeffrey is responsible for overall investment strategy and portfolio management of the Fund’s investments.

Prior to joining Jenson, Jeffrey worked as a Technical Director for WS Atkins across the Middle East where he ran a large technical team and advised clients on complex commercial and infrastructure projects.

Jeffrey holds an MBA from London Business School and an MSC in Engineering from the University of Surrey as well as the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting.

Glen joined Committed Capital in 2015 and has 15 years’ experience raising capital for businesses in partnership with financial advisers and accountants utilising tax efficient investment wrappers such as Enterprise Investment Schemes and Venture Capital Trusts.  During this time, he has raised capital for a number of diverse businesses and asset classes including multi-media, property, renewable energy and AIM listed companies ranging from start-ups to well established and profitable companies.  Prior to this Glen spent the previous ten years at Coopers & Lybrand qualifying as a tax adviser, PwC and Deloitte specialising in High Net Worth, Expatriate tax and cross border advice before co-founding a successful accountancy and tax consultancy business.

Sunil Shah is an entrepreneur having begun his career in the Life Sciences team at PA Consulting. He co-founded Oxygen Healthcare Ltd which was fully acquired by Piramal Enterprises Ltd (BSE: PEL) in 2013. 

Since this time, Sunil has co-founded the o2h Group, this includes o2h Ventures, an HMRC approved ‘ Human Health’ Knowledge Intensive EIS fund; o2h Discovery, a medicinal chemistry research services company and o2h Co-Work Labs, a 2.7Acre Science Park under development in South Cambridge. Sunil has won the UKBAA Angel Investor of the year award in 2019 as well as the OBN Special Recognition Award for his significant contribution in the Life Sciences Industry. He serves on the Board of the BIA as well as Cambridge Angels. Recently, Sunil has also won the CEO of the year award at the Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards. He is either Chairman, Non-Executive Director, Board Observer or an investor in over 20 Biotech companies in the UK. Sunil has a degree in Biochemistry from Keele and an MBA from Cambridge University.

Sanjeev joined Newable Ventures in December 2018 and is responsible for the strategic focus of the fund and angel network and its day-to-day management.

Sanjeev started as an entrepreneur before going onto selling his own business. Prior to joining Newable, Sanjeev spent five years as a Wealth Manager specialising in venture capital. Sanjeev holds a diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and an MBA from CASS Business School.
